Pepsi to spend $250 million on Vietnam projects

Chicago: PepsiCo Inc plans to invest $250 million on a variety of projects in Vietnam during the next three years, the food and beverage company said on Monday, as it looks for more growth in emerging markets.

Pepsi said projects would include increasing manufacturing capacity, strengthening existing brands and expanding the company’s product portfolio.

The maker of carbonated soft drinks has invested in a foods plant and a beverages plant in Vietnam in the last two years.

Pepsi shares were down 29 cents at $65.27 Monday morning.
