Citi promotes Anand Selvakesari to head of consumer banking-Asean
The bank also announced the appointment of Kartik Kaushik as the deputy head of consumer banking, India

Mumbai: Citibank NA on Monday promoted its Indian consumer banking head Anand Selvakesari as head of consumer banking for the Asean region.
Selvakesari will continue to head India’s consumer banking but the US-based bank also announced the appointment of Kartik Kaushik as the deputy head of consumer banking, India, with effect from 1 January. Kaushik will report to Selvakesari.
Selvakesari has been with Citibank for 22 years, since 1991. He joined as head of India’s consumer banking in July 2011, following a similar role in China.
In his new role, in addition to the India consumer and commercial banking businesses, Selvakesari will also be responsible for the consumer banking businesses in the Asean cluster, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, Citibank said in a press release.
Selvakesari has spent a couple of years managing retail banking in Taiwan and another eight years in regional roles in Singapore, where he held various positions in investments, wealth management and retail banking.
Kaushik joined Citi in 2010 to head its global business development for treasury and trade solutions business. Prior to Citi, Kartik was global president and partner at Polaris Software.
Citi’s consumer banking business in India includes branch banking, wealth management, forex, trade services, retail brokerage, mortgages, credit cards, payment products, unsecured lending, digital banking and non resident Indian products, the bank said in the release.
