Punj Lloyd Q4 net loss at Rs468 crore

Punj Lloyd's total income from operations declined 43.53% to Rs723 crore in the March quarter as against Rs1,281 crore in the year-ago period

New Delhi: Infrastructure major Punj Lloyd Ltd on Friday posted a net loss of 467.99 crore on a standalone basis for the March quarter of fiscal 2016 on sharp decline in income.

The company had posted a net profit of 268.53 crore for the January-March quarter of fiscal 2015, it said in a BSE Ltd filing.

The firm’s total income from operations also declined 43.53% to 723.56 crore during the quarter under review as against 1,281.37 crore in the corresponding quarter of fiscal 2015.

Its total expenses stood at 983.78 crore during the quarter; it was over 1,128.07 crore in the same period last fiscal.

The company, however, did not give its consolidated quarterly earnings.

For the entire year, its net loss on a consolidated basis stood at 2,245.34 crore after taxes, minority interest and share of profit/loss of associates as against 1,141.11 crore in 2014-15.

Segment wise, engineering, procurement and construction services reported a revenue of 3,667.26 crore for the year (consolidated) while revenue from traded goods stood at 556.81 crore.
