New Delhi: HT Media Ltd, the publisher of Hindustan Times and Mint, on Wednesday announced the appointment of Aparisim “Bobby" Ghosh as editor-in-chief of HT Digital Streams, the company’s new content creation and management subsidiary formed as part of its efforts to become more relevant in the digital world.

The announcement was made by HT Media chief executive Rajiv Verma in an email to employees. HT Digital Streams Ltd (HT Digital) is a 100% subsidiary of HT Media.

Verma also said in his email that Hindustan Times’ editor-in-chief Sanjoy Narayan has decided to leave the newspaper after eight years at the helm to pursue other interests. He will be with the company till the end of June, Verma said.

“The opportunity to edit HT for the past eight years has been a dream job for me. I cannot think of a single day during my tenure that I have not been excited about going to work in a newsroom full of talented, enthusiastic and hardworking journalists. I know I shall miss my colleagues but I’m quite sure that HT will continue to soar ever upwards," Narayan said.

Ghosh will report to Shobhana Bhartia, chairperson and editorial director at HT Media.

“In Bobby, we have an experienced and highly regarded editorial leader, who is well- equipped to lead us on our digital journey while keeping our core journalistic values intact," Verma said in the mail.

Ghosh joins Hindustan Times from Quartz, where he was editor-at-large and editor-in-chief of Quartz Events.
