Suzlon Energy to seek shareholders’ nod to raise Rs2,000 crore

Suzlon Energy board of directors also approved the appointment of Vinod R. Tanti as whole-time director and chief operating officer

New Delhi: Suzlon Energy Ltd will seek shareholders’ approval to raise up to 2,000 crore through issuance of securities.

The board of directors of the company, at a meeting held on Friday, approved “issue of securities to the extent of 2,000 crore”, the company said in a BSE filing.

However, it is subject to the approval of shareholders in the annual general meeting of the company scheduled for 30 September, the company said.

The board of directors also approved the appointment of Vinod R. Tanti as the whole-time director and chief operating officer of the company with effect from 1 October 2016.
