Punj Lloyd eyes highway project wins

New Delhi: Indian engineering and construction firm Punj Lloyd expects to grow revenues at its infrastructure and buildings division by 30 to 40% this year as it steps up its presence in the highways segment, a senior official said on Monday.

The New Delhi-based firm plans to secure one highway project worth Rs1500 crore to Rs2000 crore ($454 million) in the current financial year that began in April, and is also looking to bid for three World Bank-funded highway projects in east Africa.

“Highways is going to be our core business of growth," S. S. Raju, president and chief executive of the company’s buildings and infrastructure division, told Reuters in an interview.
