Mumbai: Sugar producer Bajaj Hindusthan Ltd’s net loss narrowed by 74% to 131.14 crore in the September quarter from 509.49 crore a year ago on lower costs and higher non-operating income.

Net sales fell 11.05% to 1,180.8 crore in the three months from 1,327.47 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Total expenditure fell 28.86% from a year ago to 1,161.69 crore from 1,0632.86 crore.

Non-operating income surged to 25.72 crore from 2.07 crore.

At 1.19pm, Bajaj Hindusthan shares were trading at 20.65 on the BSE, up 6.72%, while the benchmark Sensex rose 0.46% to 28,037.60 points.
