Snapdeal has been overhauling its management team to take on competitors such as Flipkart and Amazon India. In the last one month, the company has hired ex-Bharti Airtel executive Anand Chandrasekaran as its new chief product officer and ex-Procter and Gamble executive Amit Choudhary as senior vice-president of corporate finance.
In April, Snapdeal named former Coca-Cola India and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) executive Idimadakala Srinivas Murthy as its senior vice-president marketing. He was hired to help build a strong brand for Snapdeal and increase efficiency in marketing expenditure.
In March, Mint reported that Snapdeal had set up a leadership hiring team of five members who work directly with co-founders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal to recruit top executives from outside the company. This team comprises people that Snapdeal hired last year through international headhunting firms.
