
Procter and Gamble Hygiene net profit up by 19.04%

Mumbai: Consumer goods firm Procter and Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd (PGHH) on Friday beat analysts’ estimates to report an increase of 19.04% in consolidated net profit to ₹ 107.09 crore for the fourth quarter ended 30 June, from ₹ 89.92 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Revenue rose 15.21% to ₹ 557.09 crore against ₹ 483.51 crore a year ago.
A consensus of two analysts at Bloomberg had estimated a net profit of ₹ 82.3 crore and net sales of ₹ 550.1 crore for the quarter.
For the full year ending 30 June, the company reported an increase of 20.56% in net profit to ₹ 346.14 crore from ₹ 302.02 crore a year ago. Net sales increased by 13.92% to ₹ 2,332.27 crore, from ₹ 2,047.20 crore a year ago due to strong volume growth and focus on improving the product mix, the company said in a statement.
Both the feminine and healthcare businesses continued to deliver strong double-digit sales growth in a competitive market environment behind superior value propositions and strength of product portfolio. Old Spice also delivered in line with expectations, the company said.
The company also informed BSE about the appointment of Al Rajwani as managing director for five years with effect from 28 August.
On Friday, the stock gained 0.68% to close at ₹ 6,060.00 on BSE, while the benchmark Sensex gained 0.61% to 26,392.38 points.
