New Delhi: The Indian Society of Advertisers (ISA) elected Saugata Gupta, managing director and chief executive of Marico Ltd as its chairman in a meeting held on Thursday. ISA is a representative body of advertisers.
Gupta takes over from Hemant Bakshi, executive director (home and personal care) at consumer goods maker Hindustan Unilever Ltd as he relocates to Unilever Indonesia as its CEO.
On his appointment, Gupta said, “Our focus would be on making industry partnerships stronger and, in particular, to extend all support that is needed to help Barc (Broadcast Audience Research Council) come up as soon as possible with industry wide accepted and accurate TV audience research data representing viewers across the country."
The outgoing chairman Hemant Bakshi assured ISA of continuing support from Hindustan Unilever.

A member of the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), ISA has partnered the television industry for setting up Barc to launch an audience measurement system.
Other members part of the ISA executive council are Atul Agrawal, vice-president—corporate affairs, group corporate communications, Tata Services Ltd, Abraham Alapatt, chief innovation officer and head—marketing and service quality, Thomas Cook India Ltd, Narendra Ambwani, director, Agro Tech Foods Ltd and Jimmy R.
