Hyderabad: Consulting firm PwC India has set up a forensics facility in Hyderabad to provide its clients solutions on anti-money laundering compliance, third-party due diligence, e-mail and document review and investigation support, the firm said in a statement on Tuesday.

PwC India said it has invested $1.5 million on the facility, which it claims is well-equipped to maintain confidentiality of information. The team at the facility also has multilingual capabilities in Mandarin, Bahasa, Cantonese and Spanish, to cater to the demands of resource requirements for PwC network firms, the firm said.

“The establishment of this CoE (centre of excellence) demonstrates our commitment to help clients navigate the complex and varied regulatory landscape across geographies," said Dinesh Anand, leader-forensic services, PwC India.

“Non-compliance with anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and corruption regulations, etc., are not just operational issues but also bring in reputation risks. Compliance with these regulations requires a significant number of resources as well as specialised professionals," Anand said.

Apart from the Hyderabad facility, the forensics services team at PwC India has two forensics technology labs at Gurgaon and Mumbai with capabilities like data analytics, electronic discovery and computer forensics.
