BackIL&FS Transportation wins `1,348 crore road contract in Spain
IL&FS says JV with Elsamex in Spain has been awarded a contract by roads department of Republic of Botswana

Mumbai: IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd on Friday said its subsidiary in Spain secured a road contract worth ₹ 1,348.52 crore.
In a filing to BSE, IL&FS Transportation said the joint venture with Elsamex SA in Spain had been awarded a contract by the roads department of the Republic of Botswana under a so-called output and performance-based road contract system for a period of 10 years beginning 19 February.
“The total length of the roads to be maintained for both the contracts is 267.4km for a total value of $216.7 million (approximately ₹ 1,348.52 crore), which is being financed by the World Bank," the company said.
IL&FS Transportation has 13,100km projects in its portfolio under the build operate and transfer (BOT) model in India.
At 1.05pm, IL&FS Transportation shares were trading at ₹ 108 a piece on BSE, up 3.65% from their previous close, while India’s benchmark Sensex index was up 0.71% at 20,681.75 points.
