Provogue defers plans for expansion overseas
Mumbai: Apparel retailer Provogue India Ltd has deferred plans to expand to Singapore, Thailand and Dubai until September this year due to the global economic turmoil, a senior official said on Friday.
“Because of the global scenario we have adopted a wait-and-watch stance, we have postponed the plan by a few months," Akhil Chaturvedi, director, told Reuters.
“We will start revisiting the plan post September."
However, plans to expand at home are on track, he said.
It is investing about Rs35 crore to add 36 stores in FY10 pan India.
The firm will also enter into a licensing tie-up for eye wear products with a Indian firm, he said.
