Tata Steel signs deal to sell Teeside assets to SSI

London: Tata Steel said on Thursday it had signed a definitive agreement to sell certain assets of Teesside Cast Products to Sahaviriya Steel Industries (SSI) in a deal valuing the business at $469 million.

Steelmaker Corus, owned by Tata Steel, said in August last year it had reached an agreement with Thailand’s SSI on the potential sale of the mothballed Teeside plant in northern England.
