Geneva: Sanofi named Bayer AG health-care head Olivier Brandicourt as the French drugmaker’s chief executive officer, turning to a citizen of its home country for leadership after firing Canadian-German national Chris Viehbacher.

Brandicourt will take his new post in April, the Paris- based drugmaker, France’s biggest company by market value, said in a statement. Bloomberg
