IL&FS Transportation is lowest bidder 2 road projects in Maharashtra
In a statement to BSE, the company said it emerged as lowest bidder two four-lane projects on NH-6
Mumbai: IL and FS (IL&FS) Transportation Networks Ltd has emerged as the lowest bidder for the ₹ 1,885.74-crore road project involving four-laning of Fagne-Gujarat/Maharashtra border section of NH-6 in Maharasthra, the company informed the BSE on Thursday.
The company, a subsidiary of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Ltd, had quoted a grant of ₹ 245.14 crore for project.
The concession for the so called build-operate-transfer (BOT) project under National Highway Development Programme (NHDP) Phase-IV will be 19 years, including construction period of 910 days, the company said in its statement.
In another statement to the BSE, the company said that it has emerged as a lowest bidder for the four-laning of Amravati-Chikhli (Package-I) section of NH-6 in Maharashtra. The estimated cost of the project is ₹ 2,288.18 crore and the company had quoted a grant of ₹ 183.05 crore.
IL&FS Transportation is one of the largest BOT road asset owners in India with approximately 13,100 lane km in its portfolio.
Over the next two years, the ministry of road transport and highways plans to award about 8,500 km of road projects every year to meet the construction target of 30 km highway a day. In 2013-14 and 2014-15, it had awarded about 3621 km and 7962 km of road projects, respectively. The target 2015-16 is about 10000 km, the ministry said in May.
