Tata Motors global sales grow by 36% in July
New Delhi: Tata Motors on Monday said its global sales increased by 36% in July to 90,646 units on robust demand for both commercial and passenger vehicles.
Sales of luxury brands from Jaguar Land Rover were at 19,386 units during July, up 30% from the same period last year, Tata Motors said in a statement.
While sales of luxury sedans of Jaguar brand jumped by 26% last month at 5,676 units, Land Rover sales were higher by 31% at 13,710 units, it added.
It said total passenger vehicles sales stood at 50,070 units in July 2010, a growth of 42% from the corresponding month last year.
Commercial vehicles sales were also up by 30% to 40,576 units from the same month last year, it added.
The Tata Motors Group global sales comprises Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles along with the distributed brands in India, Jaguar and Land Rover.
During the April-July period, total vehicle sales rose 46% at 3,39,824 units.
While total passenger car sales increased by 53% at 1,88,094 units, commercial vehicle sales jumped 38% at 1,51,730 units in the first four-months of this fiscal.
