Bajaj Auto workers postpone 15 May strike indefinitely
The workers union on 14 April served a strike notice with a list of demands
Mumbai: Bajaj Auto Ltd’s workers union in Chakan, Vishwa Kalyan Kamgar Sangathan (VKKS), has called off a plan to strike work from 15 May.
“We have decided to postpone our work stoppage for the time being," VKKS said in a statement on Wednesday.
The union on 14 April served a strike notice with a list of demands, which included allocation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds for the education of employees’ children and allotment of shares at a discounted price.
The management had rubbished all the demands and said it would ensure that production is not hit if the union makes any attempt to disrupt it. The union postponed the decision to resort to work stoppage on 27 April—just a day before—and rescheduled it for 15 May.
