Tech Mahindra signs deal with Wichita State University
Tech Mahindra says the deal will help increase the employability of engineers in the Wichita aerospace community
Mumbai: Tech Mahindra Ltd., India’s fifth-largest software services exporter, said on Wednesday it has signed an agreement with US-based Wichita State University (WSU) to jointly work in the areas of aerospace engineering, certification, information technology (IT) and automotive testing.
Tech Mahindra said the deal with WSU and its National Institute for Aviation Research—the largest academic aviation research and development institution in the US—will help increase the employability of engineers in the Wichita aerospace community while providing it with a local pool of trained aerospace and automotive engineers.
On Tuesday, Tech Mahindra said it will set up a Canadian aerospace head office in Greater Montreal that is expected to generate 300 local jobs over the next three years.
The announcement was made after market hours. Shares of Tech Mahindra closed up 0.54% at Rs2,076.05 apiece, while the benchmark Sensex closed 1.27% higher at 25,549.72 points.
