TCS brand value grew 58% in 2013: report

The brand value of rival Infosys Ltd and Wipro Ltd grew 4% and 2%, respectively, according to the report

Mumbai: The brand value of India’s largest software services exporter Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) grew 58% in 2013 from the previous year, making it the world’s fastest growing software services brand, according to Brand Finance Plc, a brand valuation firm.

TCS’s brand value rose to $8.2 billion, the report said. The brand value of rival Infosys Ltd and Wipro Ltd grew 4% and 2%, respectively, according to the report.

Multinational companies including International Business Machines Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co. and Accenture Plc still lead in terms of brand valuations even though they grew 10%, 23% and 22%, respectively, added the report.

Apple Inc. was the most valuable brand with its value estimated at about $105 billion, followed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd at $79 billion. IBM was valued at $41.5 billion.
