Bajaj Auto sales rise 8% to 331,317 units in June

Mumbai: Bajaj Auto Ltd’s total sales for June, including exports, rose 8% to 331,317 units, the company said in a statement on Thursday. After contracting for several months, the company’s motorcycle sales saw an increase of 10% to 287,582 over the year-ago period.
Sales of commercial vehicles, including three-wheelers, also advanced, albeit marginally, to 43,735 against 43,263 last year.
Overseas shipment at the maker of Pulsar and Discover brands went up 16% to a record 156,074 units.
Shares of Bajaj Auto closed 1.68% higher at 2566.10 apiece, while India’s benchmark Sensex index shed 0.27% to 27,945.80 points.
