Bangalore: The textile machinery division of Voltas today announced its agreement with Kluber Lubrication, to become the sole distributor of Kluber and OKS branded lubrication solutions in India.
Voltas has been selling Kluber Lubrication’s needle and sinker oils to the knitting industry since five years, Voltas (Textile Machinery and Machine Tools Division) Executive Vice-President and COO S Venkataraman told reporters here today.
Both Kluber Lubrication and OKS are part of the German- based Freudenberg Chemical Specialities Group.
The partnership would help Kluber Lubrications, which already has a presence in India, to leverage Voltas large textile sales and service capability to expand its growth in the Indian market, Kluber Lubrications President and CEO K R V Parameshwar said.
Currently, the size of the lubrication market in India was roughly estimated to be around ₹ 550-600 crore.
While OKS is a lubricant specialist in the field of maintenance and repair applications, Kluber Lubrication is a world market leader for speciality lubricants used by OEMs.
Kluber Lubrication India has a plant at Mysore and has so far been selling the two brands through independent sales and distribution systems in India, he said.
Voltas currently has 65% of the market share of investments in the textile sector. The textile machinery division of Voltas is engaged in erection, commissioning and servicing all machinery supplied by Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd and the product range includes accessories.
