New Delhi: Honda Cars India Ltd, the local subsidiary of Japanese automobile company Honda Motor Co., on Monday said that it has made two top-level changes.
Katsushi Inoue has been named the local unit’s new president and chief executive, succeeding Hironori Kanayama who reached his superannuation. Hiroyuki Shimizu is the new senior vice-president and director (marketing and sales), replacing Shigeru Yamazaki who will move back to Japan and look after Honda’s automobile operations business planning.
Inoue has worked with Honda for 29 years and has served as general manager at the company’s Tokyo headquarters. Shimizu has been associated with Honda for over 25 years and in his last assignment, he served as director and vice-president in Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
The company also said that Yoshiyuki Matsumoto, managing officer, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. who was the representative of development, purchasing and production in Asia and Oceania since April 2013 and was stationed in India, will move to Japan after completing his tenure.
“He will take over as the chief operating officer of the automobile operation at Honda Motor Co. Ltd,” the company said in a statement.
Matsumoto will be elevated to the board of Honda Motor with the title of senior managing officer and director after approval at a general meeting of shareholders of the company scheduled to be held in June.
