Better realisation and cost rationalisation helps the profit
Kolkata: Cement maker Birla Corp. Ltd on Thursday said net profit in the three months ended 31 March had grown 8.6% over the same period a year earlier to ₹ 28.46 crore due to better realisation and cost rationalisation.
The company sold 1.88 million tonnes of cement during the quarter, marginally lower than 1.9 mt sold a year earlier. For the year ended 31 March, Birla Corp.’s net profit jumped 35% over 2013-14 to ₹ 175.44 crore, while revenue grew 6.4% to ₹ 3,209.89 crore.
