Mumbai: Axis Bank Ltd on Thursday elevated Dharmesh Mehta as managing director and chief executive officer of its investment banking arm Axis Capital Ltd with immediate effect.

Mehta replaces Nilesh Shah who quit in January. Mehta joined Axis Bank after the lender acquired Enam Securities Ltd in a deal announced in November 2010. He was head of Enam’s institutional business for 18 years.
