The E-Flex system uses an electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery to propel the vehicle. An onboard engine, which may be powered by a variety of fuel sources, generates additional electricity to replenish the battery and extend the vehicle’s driving range. The Cadillac Escalade Hybrid, powered by a fuel-saving 2-Mode Hybrid system, was also introduced. Its 2-Mode hybrid system enables electric power to be used to propel the vehicle, generated by the hybrid system itself.
The company plans to introduce a hybrid version of the Cadillac Escalade sport SUV in China next year.
