Myntra hires product head from Google
Ambarish Kenghe will join the company at the end of the month and report to Myntra CEO Mukesh Bansal

Bengaluru: App-based fashion retailer Myntra named Google Inc. executive Ambarish Kenghe as senior vice-president and head of products.
Kenghe, who holds an MBA from the University of California Berkeley and Master’s degrees in computer science and engineering from Purdue University and IIT Kanpur, will join the company at the end of the month and report to Myntra chief executive officer Mukesh Bansal, the company said in a statement.
Kenghe has more than 15 years’ experience in product development and management and he co-founded and led product management for Google Chromecast, a digital media player, the statement added.
“He has extensive experience in developing various world-class consumer products, including Google Chromecast," said Bansal, who is also the head of commerce at Myntra’s parent company Flipkart. “He will be driving product innovation to build the next generation of mobile products to deliver a highly engaging and personalised fashion experience to our customers."
Large e-commerce companies such as Flipkart and Snapdeal have been hiring senior tech product talent from California’s Silicon Valley. Since consumers are increasingly shopping on their smartphones, online retailers are trying to build state-of-the-art apps.
“I am excited about moving to India where a large chunk of the next billion Internet users will come from," Kenghe said. “India has a confluence of factors coming together to make it a once in a lifetime opportunity for technology professionals to make a difference."
