Coca-Cola elevates Atul Singh, Venkatesh Kini in global hierarchy
Singh will oversee the company's business in Greater China, Korea, India and Southwest Asia and Asean
New Delhi: Beverage maker Coca-Cola Co. has promoted Atul Singh, deputy president, Pacific group, to group president, Asia, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
Singh will oversee the company’s business in Greater China, Korea, India and Southwest Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).
In addition, the company has also promoted Venkatesh Kini from deputy president, India and South West Asia to president for the same geographic region.
Singh will continue to report to Ahmet Bozer, president, Coca-Cola International, and Kini will report to Singh.
In June, the company promoted Singh to deputy president, Pacific group, making him the first person of Indian origin to take on a role that senior at the world’s largest beverage maker.
Singh, credited with turning around Coca Cola’s China business between 2001 and 2005, moved back to India in 2005. He joined Coca-Cola in 1998 from Colgate-Palmolive Co. as vice-president (operations) of the India division.
India has become Coca-Cola’s seventh largest market from 19th in 2005.
