Mumbai: Novartis India Ltd, the listed subsidiary of Swiss drug maker Novartis AG, posted a marginal drop in profit to Rs23.2 crore for the quarter ended December from Rs24.2 crore during the corresponding previous quarter. During the three months to December 2009, the firm’s sales grew 2.3% to Rs160.5 crore compared to the year-ago quarter. Its pharmaceuticals business grew 8.7% with revenue of Rs109.8 crore, while the generics and animal health businesses had sales of Rs9.8 crore and Rs15.9 crore, respectively.
