Hero MotoCorp to enter Central American market

The firm has tied up with a Guatemala-based distributor to sell products in Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala

New Delhi: Hero MotoCorp Ltd on Tuesday said that it has tied up with a Guatemala-based distributor to sell its products in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

Indy Motors Group will sell Hero’s products in these countries.

“It (the tie-up) is indicative of the significant role that markets in Central America and Latin America will play in our global expansion plans," Pawan Munjal, chief executive and managing director, Hero MotoCorp said.

The New Delhi-based company will sell its products including Hunk, Karizma, Glamour, HF Dawn, Splendor NXG.

The company said it will soon start operations in other markets in Latin America, Central America and Africa to reach its objective of 10% of its total volume from international business in the next four-five years. Hero currently exports to a few countries, including Colombia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
