Steve Sargent named GE Capital Asia-Pacific head

Mumbai: General Electric’s financial services arm GE Capital on Monday appointed Steve Sargent as president and chief executive officer of its Asia Pacific operations.
Sargent, who will take over from John Flannery, will oversee operations at GE Capital, for Asia Pacific, which is based at Tokyo, a statement said. Flannery has been promoted to run GE’s operations in India, the statement added.
Sargent is currently president and chief executive officer of GE for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) and president and chief executive officer of GE Capital for Australia and New Zealand. He will continue to head GE Capital ANZ until a replacement is named and will remain national executive for GE ANZ along with his new Asia Pacific role, the statement said.
