Mumbai: Tata group chairman Cyrus P. Mistry on Friday inducted Nitin Nohria, the Dean of Harvard Business School, as a non-executive director of Tata Sons Ltd, the promoter of the major operating Tata companies.

This is the second induction of a noted Indian-born business school academic into Tata Sons Ltd in less than six weeks.

On 1 August, Nirmalya Kumar, professor of marketing at London Business School, joined Tata Sons as member, group executive council reporting to Mistry, holding responsibility for strategy at the group level.

Nohria, who has been the Dean of Harvard Business School since 1 July 2010, will take charge with immediate effect, the company said in a statement on Friday.
