Suzlon’s unit bags €90 million order
REpower Systems concludes a community wind farm contract for more than 27 turbines for four projects
Mumbai: Wind turbine maker REpower Systems SE, a unit of Suzlon Energy Ltd, said it has concluded a community wind farm contract for more than 27 wind turbines for four projects totalling approximately €90 million with Bürgerwindpark im Kirchspiel Medelby GmbH and Co. KG.
“Community wind farms, in addition to orders from our major customers, make a considerable part of our German business—totaling nearly 50% in the fiscal year 2012-13," said Andreas Nauen, chief executive officer of REpower on Tuesday.
The turbines are scheduled for delivery in 2014. REpower also concluded a service contract for 15 years runtime with an option for five additional years, the company said in a statement.
“Community wind farms are becoming more and more popular as they enable residents to cover their electricity support with their very own wind farm," said Nauen.
