Big ticket moves: This week has been an action packed one, with some big ticket accounts changing hands. Dentsu Marcom won the Rs50-crore creative business of Aircel.
The Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd and Indian Oil Corp. Ltd pitch saga has finally ended, with new agencies being empanelled. Both HPCL and IOCL had put up their respective communication businesses up for review.
IOCL empanelled Draft FCB Ulka and McCann Erickson to handle their creative business along with incumbents Grey Worldwide and Rediffusion, the size of the account estimated at Rs120 crore. In the case of HPCL, both JWT and Mudra retained a part of the Rs40-crore business, while Leo Burnett has been brought in as the new agency.
Following an international review, OMD won the media business for Inter corp adding Rs50 crore to its kitty.
Other big movements saw ING Vysya Bank’s Rs20-crore creative account being awarded to JWT. Trition won both the creative and media duties of Nitco Tiles, an account worth Rs5 crore.
