‘18 Again’ draws govt flak

New Delhi: A recent advertisement for Ultratech India Ltd’s vaginal rejuvenation and tightening gel, ‘18 Again’ has been criticized by the ministry of information and broadcasting.

The consumer complaints council, a division under ASCI, will review the advertisement in the next two weeks and if it feels the commercial violates the ASCI code of self regulation in advertising, steps to modify the content or completely take it off air shall be taken.

The ministry wrote to ASCI about the complaint on 13 August.

ASCI has written to Ultratech India and has given it two weeks to respond to the complaints. Ultratech India did not respond to Mint’s query.

In the past, ASCI had asked men’s deodorant brands Axe, Set Wet Style and Zatak to take their television commercials off air for being “indecent" and “obscene".
