Single window clearance for movie, TV programme shooting

The panel set up by I&B ministry has members from home, tourism, culture and external affairs ministries

New Delhi: The information and broadcasting ministry on Monday established a committee that will act as a single window for filmmakers seeking permission from different agencies in the government for filming of feature films, short films and television programmes.

In India, as many as 30 agencies are involved in granting permission for film producers to shoot in the country.

The committee comprises representatives from the home, tourism, culture and external affairs ministries.
