Tourists in to Delhi for the Commonwealth Games now have one-spot hub for all the information they need about the city and the games.
Delhi based firm Ved Pohoja Associates has opened about 40 Tourist Information Kiosks across the city on land provided by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NMDC) and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
“The aim is to brand Delhi as a city and to make the visit of foreign delegates and athletes a perfect and a memorable experience," said Saurabh Chauhan of Ved Pohoja Associates.
There’s an interactive touch screen to provide information on bus routes, culture, food, and tourist spots, and it’s all transferable via Bluetooth to mobile phones.
The cafes also provide food ranging from sandwiches to chocolates and have sell array of souvenirs including t-shirts, bags, and even traditional puppets.
The cafés are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m and are present near several popular spots and landmarks across Delhi.
