Kolkata: S. Anand of Chennai has been declared winner of International Young Publisher of the Year Award at the London Book Fair in April 2007.

The award carries a cash prize of 7,500 pound with a free stall at the London Book Fair for 2008.

The award is a collaboration between the British Council and London Book Fair, launched in 2004, aiming at strengthening creative leadership, networking and capacity building in international publishing industry, particularly in transitional economies.

Anand earlier won the Indian Young Publisher of the Year award in India in February, 2006, which was organised by the British Council and Oxford Bookstore.

Other international finalists were from Argentina, Egypt, Hungary, Malta, Romania, Slovenia, South Africa and Syria, a British Council release said here today.
