Judicial custody of ex-Reebok officials extended
Probe still under way; charge sheet to be filed in three months, says Gurgaon Police
New Delhi: The judicial custody of the five former Reebok India officials arrested by Gurgaon Police has been extended till 16 October.
“In a hearing on 2nd October, a district court in Gurgaon further extended the judicial custody of the five officials till 16 October." said Praveen Agarwal, the lawyer representing Shubhinder Singh Prem and Vishnu Bhagat. “My clients are cooperating with the investigations."
Agarwal also said that he was weighing various legal options. “At this stage, we’ll see what’s best and then take a call, we might apply for bail." he said.
Meanwhile, Gurgaon Police said that investigations are still under way and that the police would take three months to file a charge sheet.
“Investigations are still going on, we would take about three months before we file a charge sheet against the officials arrested." said Bhupinder Singh, assistant commissioner of Gurgaon Police.
The former Reebok India executives, Prem, Bhagat, Sanjay Mishra, Prashant Bhatnagar and Surakshit Bhatt, were arrested on 19 September for their alleged involvement in a Rs.870 crore fraud at Reebok India.
They have been charged with falsification of records, diversion of funds, causing loss to the company and wrongful gain.
