New York: Major works of artists including India’s Subodh Gupta, coveted celebrity experiences, upscale eco-vacations and exquisite jewellery will feature in a Christie’s auction on 22 April which is billed as the first-of-its-kind green charity sale.

“A Bid to Save the Earth" Green Auction will coincide with the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and proceeds from the sale will be divided among four leading not-for-profit environmental organisations: Conservation International, Oceana, Natural Resources Defence Council and the Central Park Conservancy.

The live auction will also include major works from artists including Keith Tyson, Maya Lin and Olafur Eliasson. Other lots will include coveted celebrity experiences, upscale eco-vacations and exquisite jewellery.

Hugh Jackman, Christina Aguilera, and Candice Bergen are just a few of the talented stars offering VIP experiences, with additional luxury items secured daily.

“We are inspired and honoured to convene top members of the philanthropic, environmental, business and cultural communities to benefit the environment," said Christie’s CEO Edward Dolman in a statement.
