New Delhi: New Delhi Television (NDTV) has appointed former Attorney-General of India Soli Sorabjee as an ombudsman to provide an independent perspective on the coverage of the news network, as well as investigate any complaints viewers might have about the network.

The website of the news channel, NDTV.com has begun accepting viewers’ suggestions, questions and complaints about the coverage of the network.
New York Times and the UK’s Guardian have similar positions, that of the Public Editor or Readers’ Editor, who keep a tab on coverage and handle questions and comments from readers on matters of journalistic integrity.
