Mumbai: Volvo Auto India Pvt Ltd launched the S60 Cross Country in the Indian market on Friday. Priced at ₹ 38.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the luxury sedan from the Swedish car maker went on sale the same day.
The model boasts of a powerful all wheel drive option and a high ground clearance, giving it the feel of a sports utility vehicle (SUV).
The smallest among the luxury car makers in India by volume, Volvo sold 1,428 units in calendar year 2015, up 18.5% from 2014. The Cross Country is the seventh model of Volvo in India. It currently sells the S60 sedan, S80 saloon, V40 luxury hatchback, V40 Cross Country, XC60 SUV and XC90—the 6 seater SUV.
Unlike other luxury car firms Volvo doesn’t assemble any model locally. All if them are fully imported.
