The UGC NET Exam which determines eligibility for assistant professorship and junior research fellowship is scheduled for 5 November
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which conducts the National Eligibility Test (NET) for junior research fellowship and assistant professorship will release the notification on 4 August. Candidates can start the application from 11 August till 11 September while fees could be paid till 12 September.
The admit card will be uploaded in the third week of September while the test is scheduled for 5 November. This is the second time NET will be conducted this year after January.
The CBSE did not conduct the test in July as scheduled earlier leading to widespread protests by students.
Those who have secured at least 55% marks in a Master’s programme or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by University Grants Commission are eligible to take the test.
Those who have appeared or will appear in the qualifying degree’s final year examination and whose result is still awaited may also appear for the test.
This year, Aadhar card has been made a mandatory requirement for appearing for the test at all centres except those in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya.
Candidates in these states must provide details of any other valid government identity document only if they choose a centre in these states.
