Masters of Movement
Max Mueller Bhavan will screen a series of eight documentaries on German dance theatre. Titled ‘Masters of Movement’, this dance theatre is a unique genre of contemporary dance invented in Germany but now universally recognized. The three-day event will also have an introduction by Jayachandran Palazhy, director of Bangalore’s Attakalari Centre for Movement Arts. Palazhy will talk on the current contemporary dance scene in India. The documentaries are either dubbed in English or have English subtitles. 6.30 pm. The Bay Carnival
8-9 December, 15-16 December
If you are wondering what to do on the weekend, head to The Bay, RMZ Infinity, and enjoy the carnival. The venue will have a festive look and feel, complete with DJs, magicians and stuntmen. CII-NID Design Summit
The 7th Design Summit, a joint initiative by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the National Institute of Design (NID), will be hosted at the Bangalore International Exhibition Center. This year’s theme is ‘Leadership through Design’. The summit assumes a greater significance from the perspective of implementation of the National Design Policy. This year, Italy is participating as the partner country at the summit. An Italian exhibition, ‘100 Objects of Design’, showcasing a selection of some of the most breathtaking objects of Italian design, ranging from the post-war period to the present, will be held . Alliance Française de Bangalore
If you have plans to dance away the New Year’s eve, it won’t be a bad idea to enrol in the dance classes being conducted by Rock Around the Clock Dance Company at Alliance Française de Bangalore.
