The corporate social responsibility (CSR) guidelines issued by the ministry of corporate affairs mandates companies to spend 2% of their net profit on CSR activities starting from the current fiscal year.

While it remains unclear whether the increase in spending will make a material impact, Mint looks at the CSR spending of the top 10 companies by market capitalization for 2013-14.
