Govt pushes for 14-15% growth for CIL
The government plans to increase India's coal output to 1.5 billion tonnes by 2020, with CIL's share at 1 billion tonnes
The government has set Coal India Ltd (CIL) an ambitious target of increasing its output by 14-15% in the current fiscal.
“This year the target will be in the region of 14-15%. We are already at 11%. While the target is around 11.5% for the year, internally we have taken it as a challenge to see if we can do any better. We are seeing an enthusiastic response from all the subsidiaries," said power minister Piyush Goyal.
The government plans to increase India’s coal output to 1.5 billion tonnes by 2020, with CIL’s share at 1 billion tonnes.
