Mumbai: The government on Thursday re-appointed Harun Rashid Khan as the deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), for a further period of two years with effect from 4 July, RBI said in a release.
Khan was first appointed as deputy governor in July 2011 for a period of three years and is in charge of critical portfolios such as department of external investments and operations, department of government and bank accounts, department of payment and settlement systems, foreign exchange department and internal debt management department and inspection department.
Other deputy governors of RBI include Urjit Patel and R. Gandhi. Patel is in charge of the monetary policy department among other responsibilities, while Gandhi is in charge of the department of banking operations and development, department of non-banking supervision and urban banks department, among others.
