MCX-SX is promoted by Financial Technologies (India) Ltd and Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd. It began operations in February with 1,116 companies that were in the permitted-to-list category.
While the listing of a company generally requires signing an equity listing agreement, a provision in the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act allows bourses to directly admit certain stocks that are already listed on other national-level exchanges.
