The company started a franchisee model in 2006 to convert rural areas into IT hubs, providing employment opportunities in the home towns itself, Natarajan said.

Sharp currently has three training franchisees and plans are on to set up franchisees in various towns in Kerala and Tamil Nadu before 2010, he said.
