Bengaluru: Ezetap Mobile Solutions Pvt. Ltd, a mobile payments company, announced its universal mobile wallet acceptance, which allows offline merchants to accept customer payments from other mobile wallets like Paytm (One97 Communications Ltd), Mobikwik (One MobiKwik Systems Pvt. Ltd), Novopay Solutions Pvt. Ltd, and Freecharge (Accelyst Solutions Pvt. Ltd.) through its Ezetap point of sale (POS) sale application.

The Bengaluru-based Ezetap, which makes POS devices, uses a pay-as-you-go monthly transaction based pricing model. The universal mobile wallet acceptance system is a move to bring merchants upto speed as the solution is integrated into the company’s card acceptance platform, Abhijit Bose, co-founder and CEO of Ezetap said.

There has been an exponential growth in mobile wallet users in India. Paytm has over 100 million users of the total of around 150 million wallet users, according to industry estimates. Bose says that universal applications and interoperability will allow one terminal to perform more functions and accept payments from multiple wallets.

“The shift to digital transactions is gaining momentum with consumers, and we are committed to providing merchants with a simple escalator from cash to card to mobile payments and beyond," Bose said in a statement.
